Sometimes you just have to go with the waves

You might be thinking that 54 weeks of travelling around the world would be enough for me, but 6 weeks after I got back home I was incredibly lucky to go on a 17 night cruise around the Mediterranean with my family. We stopped at Cadiz, Messina, Corfu, Venice, Dubrovnik, Hvar and Gibraltar.

Highlights included:
Ridiculous amount of table tennis, with both Dad and Cameron claiming they won the most matches….
Granny joining in our prosecco toast with a bowl of asparagus soup
Cameron getting stuck in the cinema curtain
Sailing around the Hvar archipelego
At least half of the passengers looking like they should be starring in WallE
Cameron eating steak 15 nights in a row
The Doges palace in Venice
Sailing along the grand canal in Venice and having lunch in a beautiful river side restaurant
Cameron making friends with ping pong John
Granny being a surprise table tennis star
Cameron telling Granny she should get her ‘balls to the wall’ and order an adventurous meal
Dad pulling the most ridiculous faces both while being photographed and while taking photographs
The woman falling off the log in Corfu
Cameron being told he ‘should be in a catalogue’ and that he is ‘eye candy’ by women 50 years older than him
Dad being a gym monkey 15 days running
Mum burning 30 calories a day on the exercise bike
Dads nocturnal noise suppression adventure
The obnoxious Aussie on the train home. Actually that was a low-light
The underwhelming astronomical clock in Messina
The Four Tunes, an amazing entertainment act
The smooth waiter who brightened up my morning with charming lines such as, ‘it may be cloudy outside but the sun is in your eyes ma’am’
4 pm – cheesecake central
Our waiter Jose’s infectious laugh
Granny conquering her fears and loving being in the swimming pool
Champagne cocktails with Mum
Cameron presenting Dad with a chocolate chip cookie, which actually turned out to be a raisin cookie much to Dads horror. According to him raisins are chewy and uncomfortably smooth, with a flavour that just keeps on giving and then when you think the ordeal is over you find a weird little crunchy bit.

All in all it was an amazing holiday.
